Implement a pilot biogas installation in the cross-border area (a 18KW unit in Serres, Greece) and a biowaste collection & exploitation process in Dojran, Republic of North Macedonia, to study operation flows and productivity with different biowaste mixes (e.g. rotten potatoes, slaughterhouse waste, manure, dairy waste, organic raw waste etc.)
Solve energy consumption problems or decrease energy supply costs to support rural development (e.g. water pumping for remote rural areas, electricity/heating needs for municipal buildings)
Develop a complete business value chain and an operational models for the pilot unit and the biowaste exploitation process to continue operation after the project ends
Train farmers, animal breeders and other food processing professionals to reap the benefits of the circular economy
Guide towards certification to promote the use of by-product compost as a fertilizer
Raise awareness and change citizens' attitudes by running neighbourhood-bin compost pilots promoting compost production in urban and suburban areas.

Demonstrate sustainable deployment and operation of municipal biogas installations and biowaste exploitation processes
Raise awareness and change behavioral patterns and pilot home compost initiative
Build capacities on bio-waste management and circular economy
Provide exploitation strategy and plan for further municipal investments in biogas-based and other biowaste management solutions

Operational plan for the biogas unit defining business, governance and operation model
Awareness raising and pilot demonstration campaign (1 awareness and 1 pilot launch event)
Framework analysis of local legislation or planning and EU policies in the domain
C&D material to maximize impact (e.g. website, newsletters, social media, videos, interviews)
Multi-language training materials and delivery of capacity building workshops for public staff, agri-professionals, general public and school teachers
Exploitation and scale-up plan to propose investment in demonstrated technologies in the CB region and beyond;
Certification process preparation to promote use of compost for municipal agri-purposes
