2nd PROJECT MEETING IN DOJRAN
The 2nd project meeting took place in Dojran on October 4th, 2019. The meeting was graciously hosted by the Mayor of the Municipality of Dojran, Mr. Ango Angov, at the Hotel “La Terazza” in Star Dojran.
The meeting was attended by 27 participants from both countries, representatives of Project Beneficiaries and experts. The Managing Authority of European Territorial Cooperation Programmes was represented by Mr. Dimitrios Gertsos and Mr. Giorgos Papapostolou.
During the meeting, the participants discussed the progress on the work plan and articulated an action plan for the next period. The technical teams from each project beneficiary analysed the specifications and requirements for the 2 biogas pilot units in Serres and Dojran and exchanged information and technical details concerning the implementation of the 2 plants.
The Aristotle University of Thessaloniki presented the project’s branding and communication materials and proposed an operational agenda for enhancing the project’s dissemination in the cross-border area.
ZEFFIROS at the 12th EFITA INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE
Dr. Charisios Achillas, researcher at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki participated at the 12th EFITA International Conference on 27-29 June 2019 and presented the work entitled "Legal and policy framework analysis on biowaste management for the promotion of circular economy", in the context of ZEFFIROS dissemination activities.
165 people attended the event, where they were informed about the objectives of the project, the technical studies and the piloting activities under preparation. Among the participants, 35 farmers or breeders, 30 students and teachers and 100 research and training centre representatives were acquainted with ZEFFIROS project and took interest in our activities aimed at biowaste exploitation for sustainable development in the region.
The conference facilitates participants from over 25 countries worldwide dealing with knowledge sharing and thinking on the future of ICT technologies within the agri-food and bio-resource sectors.
ZEFFIROS at the 10th REGULAR MEETING OF THE DELEGATION OF THE TECHNICAL CHAMBER OF GREECE
On 11th of June 2019, Mr. Christos Pallas, Director of the Technical Services of the Municipality of Serres, participated in the 10th Meeting of the Delegation of the Technical Chamber of Greece / Dpt. of Central Macedonia and presented the municipality’s activities and actions concerning the energy sector. Mr. Christos Pallas had the opportunity to present the ZEFFIROS project, focusing on its objectives, its expected outputs and results, etc.
Approximately 30 participants attended the event, including members of the delegation of the Technical Chamber of Greece Dpt. CM, civil engineers, landscape architects and engineers, reps of of Local Authorities and of the Regional Unit of Serres, etc.
KICK-OFF MEETING IN SERRES
On the 9th of November 2018, Mr. Ilias Gotsis, Vice Mayor of the Municipality of Serres, responsible for construction/infrastructure works and civil protection issues in the municipality, inaugurated the kick-off meeting of the project. 16 participants represented all project partners at the meeting. Among them, Mr. Dimitrios Notas, the Mayor of the Municipality of Emmanouel Pappas was also present, to express his support to the municipality's slaughterhouse SFADIS, which takes part in the project. The Joint Secretariat was also represented at the meeting by Mr. Giorgos Papapostolou, the project's Financial Officer. Mr. Papapostolou mentioned that the project raises high expectations because of its added value to the cross-border area and its significance among other co-financed projects under the Interreg IPA CBC Programme.
